Went to Revanna this morning for my hunt.Got to our parking area about 30 minutes after shooting time. Walked in on some hens still roosted played with them for awhile. Moved in and worked a gobbler for alomst 1 hour it came within 50yds and froze. Walked to the end of our area and back and we came to almost the same spot where we were in the morning and heard a gobble. Made a call or two about 2 minutes later when he gobbled he was about 100 yds out. Came running in to the side of the decoy. He stopped for about two seconds and i ripped two shots at him just to miss.lol. You will have that sometimes i guess. Moved trees about 10 steps and was getting ready to sit for a while and another gobbler lit up. In about 30 minutes 2 big toms came in. The stopped about 16 yards from me and 1 strutted for awhile while the other looked right at me. I had no real clear shot so i held off. The strutting bird finally doped strut and picked his head up and i cracked him a good one. This time the bird went down. The bird ended up weighing in about 21 and a half pounds and had a 9 1/2 in beard.I remeasured Gary.lol. The spurs were 1 ince. Now think about all of this happening by 10:15.. It was pretty exciting if you ask me. Not to mention the smallest bird we probably seen was about 19 or 20 pounds with atleast a 8-9 inch beard. Good luck to all the rest of the season.
