Anybody have a good receipt for smoking a whole chicken?
I love smoking whole chickens !
I like to inject chicken 1st.
I use 3/4 apple juice and 1/4 white wine for injection.
Make sure you inject thighs and wings also.
I then use a simple dry rub of : garlic powder / salt / pepper / thyme.
I smoke using apple wood - about every 30-45 minutes I will inject bird again.
I like to keep my temp. low around 200 degrees.
After smoking let sit and enjoy. I like dipping in BBQ when eating

Now I got to go bust out the smoker!
Had to go out and buy a chicken and cook one today . (cooking in oven not smoker )
Added a little rosemary in cavity - since cooking in the oven
Basically what Capt does, but I like to play around with more spices. That and I use a beer can cooker in the smoker. Reds apple ale is worth a try!
