My buddies went 54 for 72 last weekend fishing for bullets - So we will be heading back up north for a quick trip on Saturday...Should be on water by 6:30 am. If anybody else will be in area, give us a holler on the radio. Reel Naughty on 79
Went to Wheatley last weekend, had our limit every day by noon, the fish averaged 8 lbs. The walleyes were a pain in the butt they were everywhere 13" size. We were 13 miles southeast out of Wheatley 63'depth.
Talk to Paul at Last Chance Tackle in Wheatley 1-866-202-3337. He will hook you up with the report. I think their web site is lastchancetackel.com should have reports on that also. Good luck this weekend you should have a good one.

Started setting rods at 7:15 and had the first fish on before all 6 were rods set. Ended up going 21 for 28 with two break offs, off the water by noon. Downriggers at 43ft, dipsys on setting 1 back 55 and setting 3 back 105. Both purple and orange were the hot colors again. We were around the 03/18 and 04/17 lines. Same basic location as last week. Speed was around 2.5 - 3.0. It seems like going with the waves produced better numbers. The other group we were running with (Skunk Ape) took a nice 11 COHO early in the morning...Lots of fun, and looking forward to going up there this coming weekend weather permitting...

Launched out of Wheatley, Ontario in Canada. Just go over the bridge to Canada and take Route 3. Did have some guys make the treck over water from Lorain which was about a 41 miles hike across water. The fish have moved closer, which helps the gas tank. Talk to Paul at Last Chance Tackle in Wheatley. www.lastchancetackle.ca for more info and his phone number. He will help you and is very informative. Will even store fish in his freezer if your staying the weekend...They are extremely nice up there....Go there while its hot...Will be back up north for fun this weekend...
None what so ever - He played the 20 questions game getting back into the States, but never got up outta his seat...He even knew we had a limit of fish in the cooler but could care less. Took about 20 minutes to get through the Border Patrol waiting in line and answering Q's, etc.... In the morning, the fella asked where we were going, how long we will be there, and our citizenship, never asked for IDs or anything and let us go on...

There is an article in fridays CPD on Wheatly. It is a 50 mile ride from Cranberry Creek in Huron across. Will be making the journey from there soon. See all at Waterfowl U Sunday

Jim

We made the trip up to Wheatley again this weekend(8.20) for some Bullet action. Started setting rods at 7:45 and we were only 3 for 4 by 11:00. Seemed like it was going to be a slow day. Then a big thunderstorm pushed through and things really heated up. We ended the day at 1:30 going 24 for 32. No real big fish this time, all were between 5 and 8lbs. Downriggers at 40ft, dipsys on setting 1 back 55 and setting 3 back 105. Both purple and orange were the hot colors again. We were around the 02/19 line. It seemed like this fish pushed a little east vs where they were earlier in the week.

Another bonus is that we put a 4 man limit of eyes in the box as well.

Hope to be heading up again next week if the weather allows.
 __________________
