You know... alot depends on how big your decoys are (ie.. how much they weigh). 12oz of lead isn't REALLY necessary for standard Carrylites, Flams, G&Hs, etc. More importantly is the amount of line... if you have ample line length, your dekes won't bob with the waves in rough water. I have lots of big urethane blocks with 2" leaded keels and only 6oz anchors on them and don't have problems with them staying put. A couple of my Restles have shorter line than they should with 8-10oz weights and when the waves lift'em up and set'em down, they drift on me. With that said.... go for the 8oz weights... for security.

A regulay anchor attatched to a mother line. Single decoys are too much work.

Thanks for the info , I plan on mixing singles with a few motherlines. I have alot of 8oz. mushroom weights I was hoping to get by with them. I have magnum ( 18 " ) herter , toledo's , and restle burlappes.

16 oz. over the head rings with a scoop on the bottom, you can get the molds at Knutson's, and plenty of scope on the lines.
