<P style="MARGIN: 0px">What size Decoy weights do some of you use for single throw magnum Burlapped Decoys in open Water ?</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0px">&nbsp;</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0px">&nbsp;I Have 8 oz. I just wanted to know if that would be heavy enough in rough water .</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0px">&nbsp;</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0px">Does anybody know if and were can you buy a 12 oz. mold&nbsp; ? I have a mold that makes 2 - 8oz. weights .</P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0px">You know... alot depends on how big your decoys are (ie.. how much they weigh).&nbsp; 12oz of lead isn't REALLY necessary for standard Carrylites, Flams, G&amp;Hs, etc.&nbsp;&nbsp; More&nbsp;importantly is the amount of line... if you have ample line length,&nbsp;your dekes won't bob with the waves in&nbsp;rough water.&nbsp;&nbsp; I have lots of big urethane blocks with 2" leaded keels and only 6oz anchors on them and don't have problems with them&nbsp;staying&nbsp;put.&nbsp;&nbsp;A couple of my Restles have shorter line&nbsp;than they should with 8-10oz&nbsp;weights and when the waves&nbsp;lift'em up and&nbsp;set'em down, they drift on me.&nbsp;&nbsp;With that said.... go for the 8oz weights... for security.<IMG src="http://www.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif" align=absMiddle border=0>&nbsp;</P>

Thanks for the info , I plan on mixing singles with a few motherlines. I have alot of 8oz. mushroom weights I was hoping to get by with them. I have magnum ( 18 &quot; ) &nbsp;herter , toledo's , and restle burlappes.

<P>16 oz. over the head rings with a scoop on the bottom, you can get the molds at Knutson's, and plenty of scope on the lines.</P>
