Was going to look at a possible painting project today and road scouted some new ground I have sole permission on. About 300 yards from it I had turkeys in the road and in a small corn field beside the road. On a quick count counted 29 gobblers.
In my opinion they were now just starting the spring break -up
heading for the regular spring areas. But I could be wrong. Last year at this time we had them gobbling all over.
Got the blood pumping watching them.
Later 20 miles west of there, saw a flock of 50-80 in a bean field. This was all around 3:00 - 3:30.
Saw another flock of 20+ at another cut corn field at 5:30.
So far here in NW Ohio looks like a good hatch from last year. The first flock had about every size beard possible.
