Hey guys,

Here is a story for you. Yesterday morning a buddy and myself ventured out in chase of that early spring gobbler. The morning started out great birds gobbling on the roost going crazy. We had them ringing the morning air. Then they pitched out of roost and the woods grew silent. After about 10 to 20 min. of giving an occasional yelp or cluck. We sat to see if we would possibly get a feeding tom to stroll by. I heard something coming up be me it was getting very close like 10 to 5 feet close. My buddy was sitting a little in front of me about 5 feet. I whispered to him to slowly turn and see what came in. I was waiting for him to give me the look that says TURKEY!!! He mouths to me COYOTE. I asked him again to confirm at this time it is VERY CLOSE. He again mouths COYOTE with wide eyeballs. The movement heads to my right. I turn and see it. point and pull the trigger. It went down. This is only the second coyote that I have seen in the wild. My buddy was dieing with laughter. He later tells me that it could have given me a kiss on the ear. A little sarcasm of course. It's hide is not in that bad of shape considering the time of year. I am going to have it tanned. Maybe to make a possibles bag out of it. I have to do something with it, it may be the only chance that I will have to take a coyote. I am an avid ducker and I may have just helped in other ways also.
