I was wondering if anybody ever used swan decoys as confidence decoys when field hunting. I heard it works for ducks but I was wondering if it worked for goose hunting in the field. Thanks

I use them because they are easier to see at a distance and bring in more birds to the field

Tommywaterfowlunlimited would definitely use them, but there are no axianX swans. So all the rest of you that use swan decoys are just gameplayers.

Just make sure you don't intermix the two and they work fine

Yeah I knew they kept geese off of a small pond but I thought if I set them on the outside of my spread it might help

Yeah there's probably just as many Swans as there are geese lol. I've seen a few lone goose flying with a group of swans. They share fields and water

    swans

Sad....one of the last hunts I had near Killdeer Plains, I had more opportunities at swans than I did at legal waterfowl...ducks or geese!

They can keep their public marshes, ill take my private fields, rivers, beaverswamps and slews anytime. As for swans we see a good bit is southeast ohio. have had many occasions where a pair or small flock will land on the outside of a goose spread in late season. usualy see the big migrating flocks flying south in november while in the tree stand.
