FYI- The South Cuayahoga Sportsmans Association will host the 14 Annual Steve Johnson Memorial trial on Sunday,Sept.18th at its Chatam Twp. farm.(5390 Erhart Rd.).8:00a.m. start. All runs are on hen pheasants. Pigeons for puppy flushers, quail for puppy pointers. These are shoot to kill trials.(You can blank over puppies) Spectators are welcome. These trials are a great venue to bring a young pup out to(on a lead, under control,of course!) Exposure to gunfire from a safe distance, and someone always willing to offer up a wing or two. Flushing and pointing breeds compete in puppy, derby, open and all-age classes.

Besides the continental breeds we run at our events, I can say we do get the occasional oddity to compete. I registered a Giant Munsterlander this evening to compete in the pointing class. We have had Irish and American Water spaniels, along with a flat-coated retriever. We've even had a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retriever. What's next, an Italian Spinoni??? Minga!!!!
