I look forward to it everyday. Seeing birds, getting the gear ready, sports shows, all have me pumped up for the season to start. Hoping for a year like last. Last year, I killed a bird on tuesday of the opening week. The next day I helped dad bag his first turkey, and I got my second bird of the season at the same time. It was a hunt you would never forget, he taught me to deer hunt when I was young, now I am teaching him to turkey hunt. I am glad I got to return the joy of the outdoors to him.
Dags, thanks, it was an unforgettable hunt, like the ones you read about. A friend who hunts my farm took it and mounted it for me, not because it was a "trophy" but because of the sentimental value. What a great gesture!
