Was out Friday on the Rocky. Water was a little green, but was down from last Friday. I landed one nice male about 7lbs on the fly rod. Myself and Steve decided to go for a scouting walk. Although snagging is illegal two guys were doing it. The one guy was holding a stringer with one on it and at the same time dragging about three feet of line with two split shots and what looked to be spawn on a small treble. The other was doing the same with his Zebco 300 series reel. Thay were pulling their snaggers through the holes that had fish in them. Then the one guy followed me up the river for about 150 yards or so. To bad the DNR was a little late on that one. They left shortly after we walked by them. This is the second time that Steve and myself have witnessed snaggers on the Rocky. Sometimes I wish Daniels was stiil there so they could have stayed there instead of moving to the Rocky. Good luck on the water everyone and Happy Easter.

ha using the old michigan treble tactic. you think it is bad here go up there. its nothing but a hillbilly snagfest. with the amount of it that occurs up there you would honestly think it is legal.

chris
Duckdude,
I remember when snagging was legal in Mich. I have been fishing Manistee for the past 25 years. Its funny to see the bait stores still selling those snaggers and the bucket reads "not a legal hook". Up there The DNR are very busy and you always see at least 10 or more of them in one spot. They also have river watchers that are volunteers watching and calling to the DNR. We need that in Ohio.
Jim
