<P> I use to listen to him at least twice a week, while serving my apprenticeship.(school nights) I do agree with your comments though. If I am out and about at that time in the evening I still listen to him. I think he does a good job on most topics and has a way of pulling hidden agendas out of the mouths of some callers.<IMG src="http://www.websitetoolbox.com/images/boards/smilies/thumb.gif" align=absMiddle border=0></P>
<P style="MARGIN: 0px"> I guess what I find appealing about most of what he says , is the fact that he doesn't hold to any strict party lines but instead says what he believes is best. I myself am fairly conservative but I am also a union worker and very concerned about our enviroment.</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0px"> </P> <P style="MARGIN: 0px">It is hard anymore to vote on a candidate that you don't have reservations about in some area's. I hope a candidate or even a new party that thinks like he does , surfaces soon.I am not surprised more people didn't respond to this post because I only know a few people who have ever even heard of him.</P>

Michael Weiner (AKA Michael Savage)
Savage is easily the worst of the bunch of conservative radio hosts who have come to dominate the airwaves with ferocious rhetoric that's often filled with ad hominem attacks, hate, prejudice and blatant untruths. He launched a one-man mission to save America from its enemies at home and abroad, which on any given day includes liberals, gays, academics, the homeless, the Clintons, immigrants, feminists, CNN, the disabled, the American Civil Liberties Union, Muslims and other minorities.
A study of Savage's history and expressions reveal a persona that borders on manic psychosis. It's peculiar to see how some find these qualities to be attractive or entertaining.
Here are a few of Savage's noteworthy comments:
# Often calls non-white countries "turd world nations"
# Says "the U.S. "is being taken over by the freaks, the cripples, the perverts and the mental defectives"
# Declares "We need racist stereotypes right now of our enemy in order to encourage our warriors to kill the enemy,"
# On immigrants:"You open the door to them, and the next thing you know, they are defecating on your country and breeding out of control"
# On immigrants and homosexuals: "With the Latino population that has emerged, since they breed like rabbits, in many cases the whites will become a minority in their own nation... The white people don't breed as often for whatever reason. I guess many homosexuals are involved. That is also part of the grand plan, to push homosexuality to cut down on the white race"
# On American children killed by guns: "They're not kids, they're ghetto slime... they're the same kids that are in Sierra Leone toting AK47s."
# On the Million Mom March: "Million **** March"
# Says Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sandra Day O'Connor, along with Sen. Hillary Clinton have:"feminized and homosexualized much of America, to the point where the nation has become passive, receptive and masochistic."
# When discussing student volunteers giving food to the homeless in San Francisco: "the girls from Branson school can go in and maybe get raped... because they seem to like the excitement of it. There's always the thrill and possibility they'll be raped in a dumpster while giving out a turkey sandwich"
# Savage made rude comments about the handicapped workers at the Phoenix Cafe. He said they would put dung in diners food. He made lots of references to toilet habits and the handicapped. He asked listeners if they would like the waiter to drool in their food. Then he started making up names for the food on the menu, such as "nutburger" and many others.
# Savage told a story of how when he was younger, he touched the hand of a midget. He said it really freaked him out and since that episode, he doesn't like public places.
#Savage has bashed the supporters of kids with autism, He ridiculed a major report that California was experiencing a rapid increase in the incidence of autism. He stated that the autism lobby of devastated parents was just a scam to get more money.
So just who is Michael Savage, and how did such a hate filled man get such a powerful voice? Well, to start, his real name is Michael Alan Weiner, he's 63, Jewish, and was born in the Bronx. He lives in California now. Savage's parents were Jewish immigrants from Russia. After college, Savage went as far from home as possible, Oahu, Hawaii, hoping to follow in the footsteps of Charles Darwin. He took masters work in anthropology and botany, and studied traditional herbal remedies throughout the South Pacific. Energized by the potential of these traditional remedies, he began a crusade to save this "ethnic wisdom". Savage attempted to return to academia in 1996, when he applied to be dean of U.C. Berkeley's School of Journalism based on less than two years of experience in radio and his Ph.D. in epidemiology and nutrition science. When he wasn't granted an interview, Savage filed a lawsuit that, unsurprisingly, didn't go anywhere. Savage became an author after he failed to get an academic position. He wrote a number of books about natural healing and nutritional supplements with titles like "Herbs That Heal."
In Fiji, Savage met (and swam naked with) Allen Ginsberg, beat poet extraordinaire. (Allegedly, there's a photo to prove it.) Several correspondences of Weiner's have found their way into the Stanford University's Allen Ginsberg Special Collection. <P>CMROSKO, Does that bother you he is jewish ? I kinda get that drift from you. Thought all you far-lefters were supposed to be great crusaders for all the minorities ? All but the jews huh ? I highly doubt he is gay but if so, why are you bashing that ? You are on the side that supports the great gay agenda. </P>
