Public Drawings for Waterfowl Blind Sites at Three Northeast Ohio Reservoirs

Waterfowl hunters are invited to participate in special drawings for hunting blind sites at three northeast Ohio reservoirs according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).

For opportunities to hunt at LaDue Reservoir, registration will be at the Geauga County Fairgrounds on Thursday, September 17, 2015 and will begin at 5:30 p.m. The drawing will follow promptly at 6:00 p.m.

For opportunities to hunt at Mogadore and Wingfoot reservoirs, registration will be at the Pine Tree Lodge, Wingfoot Lake State Park on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. The address is 993 Goodyear Park Boulevard, Mogadore, Ohio 44260. Registration will begin at 5:00 p.m. and the drawing will follow promptly at 6:00 p.m.

There is no application fee for any of the drawings. Hunters will place registration cards in a drum, names will be drawn for available dates and blind sites, and first drawn will receive first choice. Successful applicants must be present when drawn to be eligible.
Each applicant must show a valid 2015-2016 hunting license and provide his/her Division of Wildlife customer identification number to register. In addition to drawings for the regular waterfowl season, separate youth only drawings will be held for the two-day youth season. A maximum of three persons may hunt each day and while the hunting partners may differ each day, the permit holder must always be present.

Permits will be issued for a period of one week and may only be used for the blind location chosen. Special note: No permit is required to hunt the last thirty days of the season.
It shall be unlawful for any person to use gasoline motors on LaDue and Mogadore reservoirs and external fuel tanks are prohibited. Electric motors only are permitted for use on watercraft. On Wingfoot Reservoir, a 10 hp limit is in place for all motors.<><
