Fished the big lake with my father today. Fished with small rubber worms all day to take our tickets. Never used a bobber or any other lure, just the 2 inch little rubber worm! We did some selective harvesting, could have easily been done by 10:30 am. We took 3 Fish Ohios... 2 redears (9 3/4 & 9 1/2) and 1 sunfish (9). 20 gills weighed in just under 10 pounds. I took 41 bass and my dad lost count and said he was close to 40 also. We tossed back around 140 gills together with over half being between 7 and 8 inches...13 over 8 inches and 1 over 9 inches...Awesome fishery...Have been going there for 11 years now, and its been 11 years of spoiled fishing there!

Corey Miller
Reel Naughty

Way to go, you can't beat those lakes.....
Your right there! Just need another three weeks to pass by to get after 'em again. Nothing is better than a fryer full of slab bluegills...Another favorite lake of mine there is Lake Sue...have had really good success there...Use to do good on Lavere, but it seemed to die off about 5 years ago, but now it sounds like its on the rebound...have you fished Lavere in the last couple years???
Yes Lavere is back up, hit it early this year and got 19 in 1 1/2 hours
THATS GOOD NEWS TO HEAR ABOUT LEVERE. ONLY BUMMER WITH THAT LAKE IS THE STEEP BOAT RAMP, BUT LOOK WHAT MESS WE GET OURSELVES INTO WHILE DUCK HUNTING, I GUESS WE CAN'T COMPLAIN THAT MUCH...
Yea it is steep but my moutaineer pulls the boat out
Got another chance to hit up the big lake this past Saturday 7-9. We took 30 nice sized gills. Two biggest going 9 1/2 each. Small 2 inch plastic worms either white or dark purple tight on the bottom in 8-14 FOW worked best. The water was stained this time around. They said 3-4 weeks until they propose shut down for the summer season. They said 167 limits for the month of june just on the Big lake....
Nice catches....They say there are some nice perch in the big lake too, one day I'm going to try and get a couple from there....Those red ears are nice too...
I have only caught perch during the ice fishing season on the big lake. When I have caught em, they were between 10-13.5 inches, but skinny...Caught em on red Eurolarvea
