Hevi-shot ballistic chart?

A friend of mine in PA got a summons for hunting too close to a residence. In PA you must be at least 150 yards and The police have 10-15 pieces of shot the residents claim hit their house. We went back and ranged the distance with 2 range finders and got around 325 yards from the blinds to the house. Personally I don't think BB's would fly that far and even if they did be able to find 10 laying around. Has anyone seen charts similar to what you can get for rifle cartridges?

Sounds like they fudged the numbers to get somebody in trouble. You can buy BBs at K-Mart. MJ

That's exactly what we believe but it seems like they will have to prove it didn't happen as opposed to the authorities proving it did happen.
check out duck hunting chat in the reloading fourm I've seen charts but I'm sure someone has one. Also if he was shooting heavy shot it will not be perfectly round, on top of that ask how they found it, because I'm pretty sure it does not magnetize.
pics of the damage to the house and swabbing the gun barrels for a powder match is the only way your gonna be able to prove anything in my opinion. On a windy day i think the heavier shot will carry pretty far. Like stated, I think someone is trying to get another person in trouble
Summons states the charges, based on that you may want to consult an attorney vs. internet typing. I think an attorney could access the police report, evidence or lack thereof etc. Remember, innocent till proven. Perhaps the landowners are complaining about Saturday, and you were there Sunday, etc.

Will the rangefinder data show up in a video? videoing the ranging, laser target i.e. buildings, and the blind...then show the distance through the viewfinder. Or can you simply pace it off all on video.

I think the alleged 'evidence' of ten BBs, probably in a shot cup with approx. 100 BBs, in a shot pattern that always grows larger the farther it goes, all 'found' by anyone looking anywhere but a plain white papered field is remote. Like, the odds of winning the lottery, twice. That shot pattern at 150 (alleged) yards would be measured around 50 yards, perhaps. Can you go to a range that has a 100- 200 yd range, place test paper, fire at it , all on video?

If you were using HS I would contact the company via email (recordable) and ask ballistics, down range pellet efficiency, pellet count (think the white paper^^), magnetics etc. And do the same for a steelshot company such as Federal.

Just a couple ideas!

There has been an attempt to contact Hevi-metal but the paper at the range @ 150 yards is a great idea!
That far no matter where you aim it ain't gettin there unless it's very windy. I would fight that tooth and nail. The shot they have probably won't match what your shooting. Sounds like dirty cops...
