<P>Make sure to check your gas tank as well. I had something similar happen to my 1999 25HP Johnson 2 stroke when it was brand new. It turned out that there was a hairline crack in the nozzle that sucks the gas from the tank to the hose and that small amount of air was causing the motor to cut out when you gave it the throttle. </P>
