Good Luck Muzzy Hunters

I'll be at Mosquito Friday but other than that I don't have anything planned. A lot of it will depend about on the weather and my schedule. If I kill a buck then I'll likely be done since I'll be done with tags. I have an antlerless tag so if I kill a doe I may go look for a buck.

I want to get some corn out at my Greene County farm and try to get my daughter a deer but I know she's out until the earliest of Sunday. She still has a Killdeer Plains Muzzy on 1/30.

BTW, I don't care if it's a shed buck. If it's a decent size I'm killing it.

We're scheduled to have a baby Friday morning, so no hunting for me. Good luck !
I'll be out if it is not raining. As far as shed bucks they are actually pretty easy to identify with a scope/binoculars. If I can't tell I won't take the safety off.
Season doesn't start til Saturday!!!

Definitly some shed bucks out there. We had a mid 130s 11point hitting standing beans last week and got pictures of him with both sides the 30th, one side the 1st and no antlers on the 3rd.

My wife will be out with the muzzy everyday if possible. Bean field should be loaded with the temps they are calling for Monday and Tuesday.
Saw a few today. Our group finished with 2 deer and one coyote. I hit a buck late and ran out of daylight tracking it. Hope to find it in the morning before the coyotes get it.

Between me and buddy we saw 10 all right at first light with fog could not get a shot.
Yesterday? I was still recovering from Friday so I didn't make it out plus I had to clean my gun because it was a mess from all the rain. I'm planning on getting my daughter out Tuesday evening.

We found it! This was one of three bucks that we kicked up out of a thicket on our last drive. I was hunkered down in a fencerow over 600 yards from the thicket but in a well traveled path to a neighboring farm we refer to as the " refuge"... NO HUNTING.
He ran across 80 acres of open ground and when he crossed the 100 yard zone I let him have it. A head on shot, that is one of my favorite shots, just below the white patch on the neck. The shock of the bullet took him completely off his feet and over backwards. He hit the ground skidding to a stop, I was sure he was done but amazingly he got to his feet and bolted for the CRP.
My shot was off center but enough of the bullet fragmented bone to take out one lung. We found it dead this morning about 100 yards from where we'd tracked blood last night. Not a giant by any means but quite a thrilling hunt!

Nice job. Curious what bullet you were using?
I'm using a 50 cal. 270 grain platinum powerbelt with 44 grains of Accurate 5744 smokeless powder.
I hunted in the am and saw a few does . Hunted in the evening and managed to finally get a decent buck Saturday evening . Saw several does then finally I saw movement and here came 3 bucks walking single file thru the woods .
