The DOW is proposing changes to the controlled hunt permits. To quote " it is proposed to amend the definition of “controlled hunt” to “controlled access opportunity.” This change would allow the Division to permit activities to be more inclusive and serve a broader group of constituents". I know hunter numbers are declining, but they pay the freight. Maybe those at the top ought to remember, " when you go to a dance you ought to dance with the one that brought you". you can comment at Wildlife Proposed Rule Changes and Comment Submission

I guess the question is what, exactly, do they mean by "..more inclusive...broader group..."?
Are they hoping to get more permit fees by opening up blinds for the bird watching dorks during non hunting seasons or something more problematic for hunters??

That's a good question. It isn't very specific, is it. Maybe they should require a hunting license and deer permit or state and federal duck stamps, to apply, like the rest of us. This is all about $. When you want to know what's behind all this, follow the money, always follow the money It would be interesting to see the actual results of the opinions and comments.

I've heard they did away with the drawings for blinds on the lake so it sort of falls in line with the reducing of opportunities. (Maybe this is their way of reducing hunting like the left nuts would love to do.)
