hen surf scoter? Or hen ruddy?
Looks like a Scoter
That's what I thought too. The bill and how dark it was
Immature hen common scoter.
Definitely lost flying around mosquito lake
The real question is what was it when the trigger was being pulled ?
I’ve actually got one there also. A few years back.
More common in the past 10 years on inland lakes in Ohio. We shoot a few most years.
Good question about knowing what it was when the trigger was pulled! I certainly hope it wasn't killed at Mosquito on Friday.
No it was not
You are correct "it was not"
It was a great question !
by the way a ruddy is 1/2 the size of a scoter. That looks like a hen white wing. We get 15-20 scoters a year.
