Does anyone here ever take more than one gun with them to the duck/goose blind?

Maybe like 1 loaded for those far out, not cooperating ducks & geese with tight choke and the other gun set for close in, decoying birds, more open choke and smaller shot.

I am curious if anyone here uses this tactic and how you set yourself up. Do you keep the close range gun in hand and switch to the long range gun or vice-versa?

Or maybe a 3rd or 4th gun... just keep them loaded all the time or have somebody loading them as you empty them out? ok.. now I am dreaming. Time to wake up.

I prefer using 1 shotgun, but I'm usually in an area that has a goose only population. However, if a duck flys by he's gonna get the goose load....big time.

I have entertained the thought of carrying an O/U during the early season while hunting doves and carrying steel 7 1/2s in one pocket and some 3" Kent Fast Steel BBs in the other pocket for geese.

I've been caught with geese flying overhead, while hunting doves and not have any goose loads in my pocket....not a good feeling.

Good hunting, Bowhunter57

I figured I wasnt the only one doing this. Depending on what's in season I will sometimes have one for ducks and one for geese. Sometimes I go with the 835 loaded for geese and the 9200 loaded up with 2 3/4 steel 6's for ducks or doves. It works out so much better than fumbling for shells and hearing KERPLUNK.. that hurts the wallet when hevishot is running about $1.50 to $2 a shell.

I was in a discussion with a guy earlier this week about it and he was under the impression it was illegal in Ohio to carry 2 guns I explained that it was only for deer hunting you can only use one gun. I wasn't trying to be a know it all but wanted him to know it was okay to do it.

My dream is to have a nice blind set up on a private marsh and in my blind I have a rack behind me loaded with so many guns. I have a gun boy who just keeps reloading them. I shoot and empty the gun, he hands me the next one loaded of course and he says to me like a golf caddy as he hands me the next gun..."sir, i think you should use the O/U 20 ga for these incoming teal...." then I wake up...rats!!!!!

Thanks for the posts guys.
