Opening day 14 lb,41/2,1/4 inch nubs.called two in,hunted side by side with JP,screwed up on the double shot, dropped the jake, let the bigger bird escape, will figure out how to synch 2 shots next year.Tuesday,nothing.heard gobbles, nothing close to work.Went back down thurs night, heard nothing flying up.Friday morn,no roost gobbles, birds hit the ground and went nuts.called in small gobbling jake, passed on him.Got closer to the other one, turned him and he gobbeled and fanned right in-21lbs.91/2,1" spurs.Weather turned cold, shut everything down.R Rich went out sat morn in rain, got a jake to close 300 yds to the shot,15 lb,21/2,nubs.Despite weather, fishing was fantastic,103/8 gill and 15 white crappie, lots of bass and gills,no shrooms yet.back down this weekend to watch buddys kill em.

Maybe change to turkwatcher for a few weeks, the only thing bad about taggin out is being outa tags,JP has some unfinished buisness with a loudmouth.Same bird woke us up sat morn before opener,i kid you not, standing 20 yards in front of cabin, gobbling his head off at my fire ring.Left lots of birds to hit yet, never even screwed with 1/2 the property.hopin to video a JP hookup.Forgot to show richs bird, hard hunting on sat, he was done by 7:35.

typical Tangler tale: forgot sleeping bag at home on coldest weekend of turk season,(along with bottle of wild turkey)lost hat chasing to the jake after shot, comes back to the cabin soaked, but happy.Still,I give him credit, sat was not a good day to hunt em and he still filled his tag.
