Big River diver call. No need to buy it though. You can make the same sound by imitating your cat "Puuurrrr, Puuuurrrrr"


I've never noticed a difference, but it does kinda add to the excitement. BTW, don't let one of your mallard calling buddies get a hold of it. There is no such thing as a Highball or a Comeback with a diver call. <img src="/images/boards/smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle">

Lohman makes a better one than the Big River.
And if you can find one Herters used to make one with a sliding barrel marked for the different species, cans, RHs and bills

There's a fella on The 'Fuge that goes by the name Screener that makes diver calls... from what I hear they're pretty nice. Me, I never saw the need for one, you can make a low, grunting prrrr into your mallard call. Double reeds sound a little bettter since they don't have quite the range of single reeds. Calling divers isn't necessary, BUT I still do it... makes you sound like you know what's going on.<img src="/images/boards/smilies/sneaky.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"><img src="/images/boards/smilies/sneaky.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle">
