I started with a crossbow and hated it. Switched to a Mathews and have never looked back. It is one of the original Solo Cams (Vx-Pro) and I won it in a raffle at shcool. I have never had a problem with it.

Never owned a crossbow,I shoot a P.S.E.and have had good succses,I prefer the draw of the bow to the click of the safety,but don't mind the ones that use them,I believe they are not privy to Pope&Young?1994 Nov 12,138/4/8 P&Y.I started my trophy quest,and have yet to score on anything above,long drought!!! but will follow faithfully,with my compound.

Compound all the way. My dad started me out with a crossbow, but I quickly switched and have taken two nice bucks since the switch. It just feels awesome to pull back on an animal that has no idea that you are there. (9pt last year and a big 8pt this year)I get the 8pt back from the "Tax" in 3 weeks!!

Compound......Hoyt X-Tech with 1000 limbs.

Love the bow...shoot like no other....and is smoother than the two mathews I owned. Also have a better customer service department than any others out there. I used to shoot competetion at a local bow club against all the mathews.

Crossbows are in no way, shape or form a gun either. You still need a deer within 30 yards and it still shoots an arrow projected by a string and limbs. The difference is you do not draw back. They have been around for 2000+ yrs.

I shoot a mathews. Personally think crossbows should only be for women and kids or disabled men.

I shoot recurve and longbow.  I own an old compound that I shoot to relax sometimes but I prefer to hunt with a single string.  Never fired a crossbow but there were times while hunting in thick brush that I wish I had one. (I hunt from the ground)
