rhino4 my suggestion would be go and buy one goose call, especially if you are going to go short reed, just spend the money on one good one and stick with it. i am glad i bought my gadus short reed when i did. i spent 125.00 but am happy as a lark with it. you could get one for under 50.00 then decide you want something a little louder or smoother or easier to blow and spend another 50-100. ask the guys around i now zink has a good one. just my opinion. ask dewayne or chappy and they will give you their opionions. good luck

I bought a Zink's PC-1 at the decoy show and love it! ($30!!!) A friend had purchased a Foiles polycarb version of one of their high ends and has trouble learning it (harder to blow), tried my Zink's and now has one too! Nice call, Great price!

Yes there are a ton of great calls out there for under $50.

Zinks Poly Carb,

Winglock,

DynzE SRG,

Just to name a few

Glynne Scobey has a short reed for $50.00, it will be my next call purchase.

http://www.glynnscobey.com/index.html

I'll go along with JSchreck and recommend the Zink Polycarb short reed. The PC-1 is a bit easier to run than the PM-1, which is designed as a more advanced call. Great calls for $30.00 and we'll have them at Layout University.

I got a Foiles Polycarb, their cheaper one, bought it at the SYC event a few years ago. Jeff was their, blew both the Polycarb and the Acrylic and couldn't really tell the difference. Whatever why you go make sure you buy a good CD that will teach you.

Mike,

If you'd like, I can send one back to the west side with Brian Saturday. We are doing a DU Greenwing event, so I'll be seeing him. He lives out there and the two of you could get together. Just a thought...

I just purchased the PC-1 in poly at Fin, Fur and Feather. Now I just need someone in the Central Ohio area to show me how to use it. I can get a holk out of it but... I sure need some practice and some coaching.

What instructional video's or cd's do you guys recommend?

Brad

Get Zink's "Ancient Art of Paralyzing" to learn how to blow your new call. Also be sure to try and make it to Fin, Feather & Fur on August 18th or the 25th for a goose calling seminar presented by Fred Zink himself and the current World Champion Field Hudnall. If that doesn't fit your schedule, drop me a PM and let me know your schedule and I'll see if I can help you out.

We have the "Ancient Art Of Paralyzing" video in stock. It is in VHS format. If you'd like one, drop me an email at [email protected] and I'll get you one out.

I saw that Zink was going to be at Fin, Fur and Feather. Probably won't be able to make either of those dates. We are expecting the arival of our first child anytime now. Probably not a good idea for me to wonder to a calling seminar right now. Got to be on good behavior this time of year so that the passes come freely come December and January.

Brad

Thanks Dan. We are inside the 1 week mark. Dove and early goose are probably out but I figure it's a good comprimise for regular-late season.

I'll be getting a meeting together before too long. Need to get things in order for Youth Day.

I'll be letting everyone know when the new addition get's here.

Brad
