Besides all the regulars, having hunted with Jeff Foiles, Jeff House, Brian Bowers, Field Hudnall, and Fred Zink, I'd have to say...

ME! Just kidding! There is some amazing talent out there.
The best caller would be the live goose walking around in our decoys the last day of the late season. That thing was making some sounds that I have yet to hear callers make. Some of the sounds sounded like a cat meowing combined with some deep wheezing.
There are plenty of great callers out there, but since I like volume, volume and more volume I'd have to go with Big Sean Hammock. He must be putting 1,000 psi through his call.
Who do you think is better? Freddy or Field? Those are the two best callers I have heard. I would have to say That BLaux is a pretty good caller, but he won't admitt it......
I hunted adjacent to a guy I think named Leo Gross up in michigan, i think he's won some state duck & goose titles up there.....all I know is that my gun was better of in the case than in my hands at the time
The best "meat" caller I have hunted with is Big Mexican. He's not a contest caliber caller, and the Glynn Scobey Reelfoot lake call he uses sounds more like a kazoo than a duck, but he know's when to call and how to bring them within shooting range.
The callers I grew up with can't compare with the ones of today as the technology has changed and frankly the callers of yesteryears contest were more like the meat calling contests of today.
Here are some callers I heard and grew up with - My generation! - Again, they don't compare with the quality of today's callers.
Mike McMaclemore - Champion of Champions - Fabulous Caller -Made a great call
Butch Richenbach - Founder of Rich N Tone - Former mayor of Stuutgart, Ark.
Chick Major & wife Sophie Major - both good callers
Art Beauchamp -
Jim "Cowboy" Fernandez - Inventor of the yentzen triple reed call - I think he won the worlds in the 50's
Herb Parsons - World Champion Caller - Known more for his shooting exhibitions than calling though!
Eli Haydel - Good meat caller - maker of great meat calls
Tim Grounds, Sean Mann & Big Ron Winecke - all new generation
and finally the ultimate (Duck Caller in a hunting situation) :
The Duck Commander
Phil Robertson
Many of today's contemporaries were influenced over the years by one of these guys !
KC....I hear he's hell on the ducks..... and his goose ain't too bad, either! He don't hold a candle to that Eriegunner, though!
Bo,
C'Mon, I think you have the best Hail call in Ohio,
I don't know what chappy was thinking. I think you could win the national Diver call championships! I give you credit where credit is due.
Best callers I have ever heard ducks- too many to list but for geese-- MATT HOUGAN I have never hunted with him but heard him call at one of the SYC events, it was pretty impressive

The best caller I have heard is Fred Zink. He is not only known for his comp calling. He puts A lot of sound in his calling in the field. I have had A chanse to go hunting with him. It is awesome how he makes A call come to life and the birds can't resist his life like goose sounds.

Austin Buss

I don't get out much so I have only heard the famous people on videos. I had the pleasue of sharing a zone with Matt Hougan at Pipe Creek a few years back. I have to admit when he sent a goose into theropy multiple times (goose was closed) I was impressed. No decoys and that goose was convienced that there was a goose somewhere in our zone. Several passes then the goose sent Matt into theropy. It had a band and was off limits. Matt also took the time to tune my call and give me some pointers. For the time he spent teaching makes him worthy of being the best caller I have heard. Even had me making the Rattler screaming.
Eli Haydel, I would say, but I like meat callers, they put dinner on the table.
