Made 3 turtle traps yesterday and set them last night, without much knowledge at all, except what I got from Stan and others here. Not too bad, I was 1 for 3. He topped out at 27 pounds.

I am not sure what the best way is. This is my first rodeo at trapping them. I have heard everything from be-heading them to a hammer and even shoot them with a framing nailer. I will once again have to turn to the OW pages for the best way for that and how to skin them out.

Maybe these are dumb questions but any way... do all turtles have a hole in their tongue? If so does it have a purpose? The one I caught has one and I was wondering if it was normal or not. Next, how long in the clean out tub? Week or two? Thanks!

Thanks, hopefully it won't be too bad- I have a guy I work with that I found out traps and feels for them coming to assist. Just found out today he does it. He uses rope traps. Prefers to feel for them . That just isn't right! Maybe once I see a couple come out, I would get up enough sack to do it myself. Key to that is MAYBE!!!
