I have owned one of the Averys before and I hated it.It hung down on the water and got in the way. There was no dog door then and I don't know if that has been changed.I am in the process of saving my money to buy a Mud Buddy with the flip top.I have hunted out of one of these before and they are the cats *ss.You stay very dry and warm. The go on easy, set up easy and removal is just the same. They also have the dog door.I believe they have it in HD 4 also.If you get a chance check these out. They are the best in my opinion. Not sure if it cost more but to me it would be worth the extra cash.

In the interest of truth and fairness, Bryon, wouldn't it be fair to the man asking the question to let him know you are associated with Tony Homer, who happens to be a Mud Buddy dealer?

That being said, I will tell Mr. Douglas that I had one of the original Quick Set boat blinds, and I liked it. True, the camo does hang to the water, (which I like because it covers the boat hull). It also has no dog door because all you need do is pull up the fabric...no big deal. I am looking into the availibility for Chuck as well. I will let you know via PM what I find out Wolfgangbuck.

With all due respect: DON'T BUY AN AVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy a BEAVERTAIL!!! Every Avery owner I've ever had in my boat has sold there Avery and bought a Beavertail. There is nothing like it. For instance, you have a winged bird (which RARELY happens)-with the Beavertail it takes less than 3 seconds to have the blind down and the boat running to get the bird. With the Avery you almost need a spotter to watch the bird and one person to fidget with the blind. A TOTAL HASSLE!!! Also, the Beavertail leaves the entire boat covered and accessible. PLUS the blind is only 23 inches above the gunnel of the boat. Due yourself a favor, don't rush into an Avery until you have hunted out of a Beavertail!! YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT!!

DeWayne,I sent ya a pm.As far as my opinions on the blind issue those are my feelings. It have nothing to do with Tony's dealings or his dealings with Mud Buddy.I did not any where in my post direct him to Tony or his web site.Don't try to make this more than what it is.

Since I will be adding some $ to the purchase of whatever blind wbd choses I would like to thank those who have provided constructive comments. I do agree that anyone affiliated with any manufacturer make that information known. It's been a long hot summer and we are all looking forward to the hunting seasons. Lets not let this get out of hand and turn this thread into a name calling/bashing session.

Well said Borderjumper. I am on Avery's Pro-Staff and it is right there in my signature for everyone to see. That being said, if I mis-construed hunterdog1's comments, I publicly apologize. It's just that when I see such a strong word as "hated" being used in reference to a product, it usually goes along with someone having an axe to grind. Again my apologies if I mis-interpreted the motives of hunterdog1.

Just to clarify, I am not associated with any manufacturer. I have hunted for 11 years out of many blinds. My opionion is that the Beavertail (or Mudbuddy-VERY SIMILAR) is the perfect blind! My only suggestion is that you hunt out of an avery and a beavertail before you buy. I am more than happy to take you out to experience a beavertail and a good duck hunt!

SouthernOhioBoy,

I mean you no disrespect, I was just trying to understand what you were saying. I too try not to get involved in email debates, as know one ever really wins. Now having said that, I feel it's my job as an employee of Zink Calls and a representative of Avery to sift through the muck and get to the bottom of any complaint, issue, and trash talk. The sad thing is and I'm sure you would agree, most every company in this industry has room for improvement, but only certain ones get bashed on here....by the same people. I just wish some of these trash talkers had a clue as to what it takes to start up a business from the ground up, sacrificing family, friends, working around the clock, risking everything and to see it finally materialize into what you've always dreamed of, then, along the way, have a few bumps in the road and to have people bash and bash and continue to bash your company and/or product. Even though that was a run-on sentence, I think my point is clear. If you don't have anything good to say, you probably should keep your mouth shut and just crap on your own carpet. SouthernOhioBoy...none of this was directed at you, so please do not take offense to it. Take care and Good Luck to ya this hunting season no matter what hunting product you may choose.

Zink Calls

Avery Pro-Staff
