Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it should go in the upland section, but a dad has to brag now and then DAMMIT!!

My 12yr old son killed his first grouse Sunday. To say he was happy, is understating it juuuuuuuust a bit!
I was one proud dad as well

As is often the case, he tail shot it a bit, and when it tried to flutter away, his boy Petey snatched it by the tail.

Very nice, didn't know they still let you hunt them in Ohio.

It's been at least 15 years since I flushed a grouse up here in northern Ohio. Great job!

I used to spend the whole month of February chasing them in SE Ohio.
There are still some around but not like they used to be.
I used to get 10-15 flushes a day back in the day.
Great job on the hunt.

Southern or eastern ohio? I know we heard them recently spring drumming close to tar hollow in Ross county.
