    3 HP Motor
    Sold as the Tanaka TOB-300, Sears 58519 / 58619 and the Aquabug AOB-300. Weighing in at 24 pounds this motor has the guts to mover fairly large boats. ...dual stage centrifugal clutch it will idle or “troll†at slow speeds while maintaining a healthy engine RPM, thus reducing fouled spark plugs and engine overheating. It is air cooled with no impeller to break down or suck mud.

    Wide open, it pushes a 16' aluminum canoe almost too fast....

    Here's some pics...
    The motor cover has self adhesive vinyl on it that is painted green and some camo tape...This is removable.
    The motor is in very good shape as you can see...no cracks, dents, leaks, corrosion....runs great..
    Only weighs 24 lbs....At least half of what a trolling motor battery weighs....
    Internal fuel tank...very portable and self contained...
    17" transome height

    This model of motor has a reputation of being a very reliable motor...

    I 've had it for about 4 years and I've only used it a handfull of times. I bought it from someone who had it on his boat as a backup motor so he didn't use it a whole lot either. It runs great.

    From the Tanaka web site here's a quote from another owner of the same model of motor;

    Jason M. (Dayton, OH), submitted this comment on the die-hard quality of his TOB-300 outboard motor ...

    "I have a Tanaka 3hp outboard motor that I have had for more than ten years. It is running as strong today as it did when it was new. Of all of the small outboards I have owned this is the smoothest running and most reliable. I have used it in the harshest weather conditions in Alaska and it always came on strong. Thumbs up to Tanaka! Too bad they are no longer manufacturing this motor."

    The motor was taken out of producution because of new emission standards , mostly in California.

    Here'e pics of the motor with the camo vinyl removed...Unfortunately some of the original decals came off...shouldn't matter to a duck hunter
    though....

    On it's way to e-bay....
