Does anyone run a Chesapeake in AKC Retriever Trials. If you do, how many do you run per year?

Ref: AKC Trials. The first pic is HRCH-CH The Hurricane WDQ MH Qualified All-Age. Now retired; Abs was as high as #7 in USA by points. Usually ran 6-8. The second pic is son number 1 Hurricane's Express Courier Qualified All Age, Curry was the number one male last year with a total of 13 1/2 points and number 2 overall, 1/2 point behind his cousin. He was run on a limited basis; only about 8-9 times. Curry's full sister was sitting number 1, 2 weeks ago after a third in Louisiana. Curry will probably be run in 8-10 trials this year; the ones in Ohio. 1-2 Pa. 2-3 Mich. 1-2 in NY and possibly the ACC national in Oct in NJ. He needs to pickup 3 points for his AFC and to qualify for the National Amateur. Curry is available for stud to qualified bitches. Curry is owned by John Ackerman of Russell. We are always looking for a few people to train with.

Come to the Buckeye Retriever Club's AKC Field Trial on April 15-17 at Grand River Wildlife Area in West Farmington, OH. Four stakes will run over the 3 days. The Derby and the Open All-Age will start on Friday. The Amateur All-Age and the Qualifying Stake will start on Saturday. The Open and Amateur will most likely finish on Sunday, the minor stakes may finish on the day they start.

This Field Trial is the longest running Retriever Field Trial in Ohio and quite possibly in the whole Midwest, having started in 1949. Some of the best dogs from around the country (TX, SC, NC, WI, MI, NY, OH, AL, GA, FL, etc) compete every year.

    Come see it!

Thanks for the information. I will plan on being there. We have a mutual friend in Dick Sicliano.
