I think they are a great big water boat. However as tender,I am unsure. It would seem like a real bear to off-load a layout boat off a T.D.B. as well as dropping a hunter after setting it.

Only having 10' of cockpit, where do you put the layout??Towing it works, but is not the greatest way to get around.

My opinion is if you are going to tend a layout setup you want a more open boat than the T.D.B 17..

Don't waste your time, there aren't any birds on the lake worth hunting. Get a canoe and hunt Killbuck.

There is a 17 foot TDB for sale on E-bay right now for $9000(40HP Evinrude).  Personally I like them but I would buy the 21' Seaclass for Erie Ocean.  Save a little money and buy a similar quality boat but don't skimp on the motor.  Buy a Honda 4-stroke.

smartweed.....agreed as for a tender i have to agree with lucky not sure you will top the alaskin. doubles as a killer fishing boat too! i have fished and hunted off of 3 of them so far. as for a tender the tiller kicks big time a$$. very versitile and easy to manuver through the spread. the consule is a nice rig though as well.
