Default Merganser recipe?

I'm probably going to get some flack for this one.  I shot 5 redbreasted mergansers today and brought them home and breasted them out.  Its a nice bunch of meat, but is there a way to prepare them that will make them edible?  I've already heard about the kerosene marinade.  Just wondering if any of you guys have found a way to prepare them.

Dig a popcan sized hole in the bank of a brushy creek, place merganser breast w/ feathers in back of hole, set two #1.5 coil spring traps w/ stakes near the entrance of the hole. Return to coon set next day to recover coon. Take coon home, skin and eat. That's the best recipe I know of.

I use this recipe for carp. It's probably well know around the site

Take wood board
Put fillets on it
Put all the seasonings and marinade on it you want be sure to get it on board to
Place in oven for 10 minutes
Take it out. Scrape birds and whatever veggies and excess seasoning into trash
Eat the Board

Ive never eaten a Merganser, but I dont see why Coots get such a bad rap. They dont taste bad at all.
